Help! How do I get my DVDs out of the case?

15 Aug

Many of you may groan at this blog, and think its common sense, but for over a year I didn’t know how to correctly remove discs from our newest DVD packages.

Our Wind at my Back, Remastered Road to Avonlea and the Anne of Green Gables: The Kevin Sullivan Collection DVDs come inside cardboard packages that use ‘nova trays’ to hold the discs. I like these trays because they let us put 2 DVDs on one panel – so we can keep our products thin.

For example, with the Anne Collector’s Edition, it is a 5 Disc set – and each disc is on a panel. Therefore, when the packaging is fully unwrapped, it is quite large. With our the Kevin Sullivan Restoration, we were able to put 2 discs on each panel to keep that 8-disc package from being monsterous.

Anyways, getting DVDs out of a nova-tray can be tricky. For over a year I just twisted and pulled until the discs came out. I’ve heard stories of people actually cracking their discs in half during this struggle.

To correctly remove these discs, simply push the disc towards the bottom of the packaging and then lift. The discs are held by spring-loaded clips!

Once I knew how these cases worked, I was amazed by the simplicity.

Anyways – I hope this helps. If you ever have trouble, send an email to boutique@sullivan-ent.com.
